The main workflow, step by step
The window follows an engagement ring from the first choice of design to the bench. Choose a step to see its screen. The jeweler, the stones and the order shown are invented for the demonstration, and no prices in it are real.

Who uses it, and what each role can do
A fine jewelry purchase is personal and often guided. The roles let a customer explore alone and bring an adviser in at the moment they want one.
| Role | Sees | Can do |
|---|---|---|
| Customer | Designs, options, prices and their saved pieces | Configure, save, share and request an appointment |
| Sales adviser | Customer designs, stone availability and orders | Refine a design, reserve a stone and take the order |
| Product manager | Designs, options, rules and price inputs | Maintain collections and metal and stone prices |
| Bench jeweler | Job sheets for confirmed orders | Flag a problem with a stone or a specification |
When the work leaves the usual path
Precious materials and personal messages leave little room for error. These are the situations the configurator must handle plainly, and each has an owner.
| Situation | What the system does | Who decides |
|---|---|---|
| Setting and stone do not fit | Hides the combination and explains the limit | Product manager |
| Chosen stone sold meanwhile | Tells the customer and offers the closest match | Sales adviser |
| Metal price changed since saving | Reprices the design and shows the difference | Product manager |
| Engraving too long or unsuitable | Limits length and refers unusual text to a person | Sales adviser |
| Ring size unknown | Offers a sizer by post or a showroom visit | Sales adviser |
| Request beyond the options | Marks the order custom and routes it to a quote | Sales adviser |
What it connects to
Prices in jewelry move with metal and stone markets, and stock is often unique. The sources below are agreed with you before the price logic is designed.
| System | What moves | Direction |
|---|---|---|
| Product and collection data | Designs, options and rules | Into the configurator |
| Stone inventory | Available stones with grades and certificates | Into the configurator |
| Metal and stone price inputs | The figures your pricing formula uses | Into the configurator |
| Web shop or order system | Confirmed designs as orders with deposits | Out of the configurator |
| Appointment booking | Consultations linked to a saved design | Both ways |

Common questions
Can stones look realistic on a screen?
They can look convincing enough to choose shape, size and setting, with careful materials and lighting. Real-time rendering of a faceted stone is demanding and still an approximation, so we agree the visual standard with you early and test it on ordinary phones. A certificate and, where offered, a video of the actual stone complete the picture.
How is the price kept correct when metal prices move?
The price is calculated from inputs your team controls: metal weight and rate, stone price, setting and labour. When you update a rate, every design reprices. A saved design shows the current price and says that it changed. Whether a quoted price is held for a period is your policy, and the configurator applies it.
Do we sell individual stones or by grade?
Either works, and the choice shapes the product. Selling by grade means the customer chooses a range and you select the stone. Selling individual stones means showing live inventory, reserving a stone during checkout and handling the case where it is sold meanwhile. Many jewelers start by grade and add individual stones later.
Will customers still want to talk to someone?
For most significant purchases, yes, and the configurator is designed for that. A customer can save a design and book a consultation with it attached, in the showroom or by video. The adviser opens the same design, adjusts it together with the customer and takes the order, with nothing lost in between.
