Shopify CRM Integration

Every customer,one complete record

We connect Shopify to your CRM so sales and service teams see what each customer bought, returned and agreed to receive, with matching rules that stop one person becoming several records.

01Our Approach

A customer is one person in your store and should be the same person in your CRM, with the same history and the same preferences.

02Overview

Store customers and CRM contacts as one

  • 01Customer matching
  • 02Purchase history
  • 03Consent kept current

Shopify CRM integration carries customers, orders, abandoned checkouts, refunds and marketing consent from your store into the CRM your teams work in, and returns the fields the store should know, such as segment or account manager. We build it on Shopify's Admin API and webhooks and on the CRM's own API, with a matching step that decides whether an incoming shopper is new or already known.

It suits brands whose support agents answer without seeing orders, whose marketing lists are exported by hand or whose wholesale accounts live in the CRM while their orders live in the store. Guest checkouts, shared email addresses and customers with several accounts make matching the difficult part, so we agree those rules with you first and report every merge the integration performs.

03What We Do

Capabilities, End to End

01
Customer and order mapping

Customers, addresses, orders, line items, tags and refunds are mapped to contacts, companies, deals or custom objects in the CRM, following how your teams already use them.

02
Matching and merging

Incoming shoppers are matched on agreed keys such as email and phone, guest orders are attached to existing contacts and uncertain matches are held for review.

03
Direction of each field

Order facts flow from Shopify to the CRM and never back. Fields such as segment or owner flow the other way, and the rules are written down.

04
Consent handling

Email and SMS marketing consent is carried with its source and date, and a withdrawal in either system reaches the other before the next campaign is sent.

05
Error queue and retries

Records the CRM rejects wait in a queue with the reason shown. Temporary failures retry automatically, and a key on each write prevents duplicate contacts or orders.

06
Monitoring and alerts

A dashboard shows records waiting, time since the last successful sync and API usage against the CRM's limits, with alerts sent to a named owner.

06How It Runs

From Kickoff to Launch

01
Agree the model
02
Build and backfill
03
Pilot one team
04
Roll out
01
Agree the model

We learn how sales, service and marketing use the CRM, decide where orders and products should appear, and settle the matching keys and the handling of guests and duplicates.

02
Build and backfill

The service is built against a development store and a CRM sandbox. Historical customers and orders are loaded in a trial run, and the merge report is reviewed with you.

03
Pilot one team

A single team works from the synchronized records while we compare them with the store. Their questions show which fields are missing and which automations need the new data.

04
Roll out

The integration is switched on for everyone, CRM automations that depend on purchase data are enabled in stages and the dashboard, alerts and runbook pass to your administrators.

08Who It Is For

Built for Teams Like Yours

FLAGSHIP
Your CRM does not know what customers bought

Support agents open the store admin in a second tab to find an order. Marketing exports spreadsheets to build a segment. Wholesale accounts are managed in the CRM but order somewhere else. You want purchase history where your people already work.

09Questions

What buyers ask before they start

If yours is not here, ask us directly. The first conversation is free and useful whether or not we work together.

Book a call

In Shopify, a custom app on your store with scopes for customers, orders and, where used, marketing consent. In the CRM, an API credential tied to a dedicated integration user, with permission only for the objects it writes. Some CRM features, including custom objects and higher API allowances, depend on your subscription tier. We confirm these against each vendor's current documentation and list them before work begins.

Any CRM with a documented API. HubSpot, Salesforce and Zoho are common, and a custom CRM is often the simplest because we can shape both ends. Several vendors also publish their own Shopify connectors. Where one covers your needs we recommend it, and we build custom work only for what it leaves out, such as wholesale accounts or unusual matching rules.

By matching before writing. Each incoming customer is compared with existing contacts on the keys we agreed, normally email, then phone. A confident match updates the existing record. An uncertain one, such as the same phone with a different name, goes to a review list. Guest checkouts are attached to a contact instead of creating a new one each time.

Yes, and it is treated as the most sensitive field. Consent travels with its channel, source and time. If a customer unsubscribes in the CRM, the store is updated, and the reverse. Where the two systems disagree, the most recent withdrawal wins. How you collect and use consent remains your legal responsibility, which we recommend reviewing with your advisers.

Yes. A backfill reads historical customers and orders in bulk and loads them through the same mapping and matching rules as live data. We run it first as a trial, review the merge report with you and agree how far back is useful. Very old history is sometimes summarized as lifetime totals instead, which keeps the CRM fast and its allowances intact.
