What shapes a software project in Kuwait
A typical Kuwaiti business of any size is a group. It may hold agencies for foreign brands, run retail and restaurants, and own property, each with its own staff and software. The gaps between those systems are where custom work pays.
| Topic | What it means for your software | Decide early |
|---|---|---|
| Group structure | Several companies and brands under one owner, each with its own accounts. Management wants a combined picture without forcing every unit onto one product | Which units are in the first release, and what the group view must show |
| Collections | Customers pay by KNET, often through a payment link sent by message, as well as by transfer and cheque. Matching payments to invoices by hand is slow | Which payment provider issues links, and how its reports reach your accounts |
| Customer and employee records | The civil ID number identifies residents and citizens across government and banking, and businesses commonly record it. Residency and work permits carry expiry dates | Whether you have a sound reason to store the civil ID, and how it is protected |
| Language | Management reports and contracts are frequently in Arabic, operations often in English, and customer documents in both | The language of each document and report the system produces |
| Personal data | The communications regulator's privacy regulation applies to licensed service providers, and sector regulators such as the central bank set rules for the firms they supervise | Which regulator's rules reach your business |
| Tax | No VAT applied in Kuwait when this page was reviewed. Systems should still be able to add a tax without restructuring | The current position, confirmed with your adviser |

What we build
Systems that span the group
Order, service and property systems that several companies can share, each seeing its own data and the group seeing all of it.
Payment links and reconciliation
Invoices sent with a payment link, and provider reports matched back to invoices automatically.
Bilingual reports and documents
Arabic and English output from the same data, laid out for the reader each is meant for.
Customer and tenant portals
Self-service for statements, payments and requests. See client portal development.
Connections between your tools
Accounting, point of sale, warehouse and HR systems linked through their interfaces, so that group figures do not depend on exports.
Dashboards for owners
A clear daily view of sales, collections and stock across the businesses.
What we need from you
- A map of the companies, brands and systems in the group
- The reports management relies on today
- People from finance and operations in each unit
- Test access to existing systems
- A sponsor with authority across the units
Ownership and licensing terms are defined in the project agreement.

Common questions
Can one system serve several companies in our group?
Yes. Each company keeps its own records, numbering and users, and the group level reports across all of them. This is usually better than forcing every unit onto identical software, because a restaurant, a distributor and a property company do work differently. Shared definitions matter more than shared screens.
Can customers pay invoices by KNET link?
Yes. The system creates a payment link for each invoice through your payment provider and sends it by SMS, WhatsApp or email. When the customer pays, the provider notifies the system, which marks the invoice paid and issues a receipt. This removes most of the manual matching that finance teams do today.
Should we store civil ID numbers?
Only where you have a clear need, such as contracts, credit or regulated services. It is a sensitive identifier. Where you do store it, limit who can see it, mask it on screens and in exports, and record why it is held. Your legal adviser should confirm what your sector's rules expect.
Do we need Arabic in the system?
For most groups, yes, at least in reports and documents. Owners and boards often read in Arabic, government correspondence is in Arabic, and customers expect bilingual invoices and contracts. Daily screens can be in the language each team works in. We settle this per document at the start.
