Mobile App Modernization
We bring aging iOS and Android apps up to date, replacing outdated frameworks, libraries and screens in stages so the app keeps its users, its ratings and its place in the stores.
An app that still works can already be at risk, because store rules, system versions and libraries move on whether or not the code does.
Keeping a working app fit for today
- 01Upgrade audit
- 02Compatibility matrix
- 03Phased releases
Mobile app modernization updates the foundations of an existing app without discarding what works. We audit the code, the dependencies and the store requirements, decide what to upgrade, what to rewrite and what to leave, and deliver the changes through normal releases so users simply receive a better version of the app they know.
It suits apps built some time ago that are slow to change, crash on new phones, depend on libraries nobody maintains or face a store deadline. Sometimes the audit shows that a rewrite is the cheaper route. We present both options with their costs and risks, and we do not assume in advance which one the evidence will favor.

From Kickoff to Launch
We read the code, build the app from scratch, review crash and usage data and check the stores' current rules, then report what must change, what should and what can wait.
Work is ordered so that safety comes first, with tests and monitoring before upgrades, and each later step is sized to fit inside a normal release that can be shipped alone.
Frameworks, libraries and screens are modernized one area at a time behind feature switches where needed, with the old and new versions able to live side by side until the change is proven.
Each version goes to a small share of users first, crash rates and reviews are watched, and the rollout widens only when the figures match or beat the previous release.
Built for Teams Like Yours
What buyers ask before they start
If yours is not here, ask us directly. The first conversation is free and useful whether or not we work together.
Book a callModernize when the app's structure is sound and the problems are outdated tools, libraries and screens. Rewrite when the architecture blocks every change, the technology is no longer supported or the product has shifted so far that little of the old code applies. The audit gives the evidence for either route, with an estimate for both, so the decision rests on findings and not on preference.
They should notice that the app is faster, more stable and at home on a new phone. They should not have to learn it again. We keep navigation and familiar screens recognizable, deliver changes through ordinary updates and avoid forcing people to sign in again or lose saved data. Where a visible change is needed, it is introduced gradually and explained inside the app.
Both stores raise their minimum requirements regularly, for example the system version an app must be built for. An app that falls behind can be blocked from publishing updates and may eventually be hidden from new users, although people who already installed it can usually keep using it. We check the current rules during the audit and plan the work so deadlines are met with room to spare.
Yes, that is the usual case. We need the source code, access to the store accounts and build keys, and whatever documentation exists. The first step is always to build and run the app ourselves, which shows quickly how complete the handover is. If something essential is missing, such as a signing key, we explain the options before any other work starts.
By adding safety before changing anything. Automated tests cover the main journeys, crash monitoring reports problems as they happen and releases go out in stages. Each upgrade is kept small enough to ship alone, so a fault can be traced to one change and withdrawn. Larger replacements run beside the old code behind a switch until the new version has proven itself with real users.
